Privacy Policy

CronJobs ("we," "us," or "our") operates the CronJobs Discord bot and related services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use our service:

  • Discord User ID — Your unique Discord identifier, used to associate your preferences and deliver personalized features.
  • Role and Preference Selections — Your selected engineer type, work mode preference, seniority level, tech stack, salary floor, company blocklist, and feed cadence settings.
  • Bot Interaction Content — Messages you send directly to the CronJobs bot (e.g., search queries, onboarding responses). We do not read or store messages in public community channels.
  • Resume Files and Extracted Text — If you use resume features, we process the file and job description you provide. The current service can retain one active resume file and extracted text so you can reuse it in later career-assistant or tailoring requests.
  • Subscription Status — Whether you have an active CronJobs Premium subscription, managed through Discord's billing system.
  • Website Analytics — Plausible Analytics measures aggregate page views, referral sources, browser and device categories, approximate location, Discord-invite clicks, and first-party research-file download clicks. Download events record the source page and requested .csv or .json asset URL. Plausible does not use cookies, store IP addresses, or create persistent identifiers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Deliver personalized job feeds based on your role, preferences, and tech stack.
  • Power conversational job search and resume tailoring features.
  • Track which jobs have already been delivered to you, to avoid duplicates.
  • Manage your subscription status and premium feature access.
  • Improve the service (aggregated, non-identifying analytics only).

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure:

  • User preferences are stored in Cloudflare D1 (a serverless database).
  • Feed schedules and entitlement status are stored in Cloudflare KV (key-value storage).
  • Session-specific resume files are stored in Cloudflare R2 (object storage) and scheduled for deletion after four hours.
  • One active reusable resume can be retained in R2, with extracted text in D1, until you replace it or request deletion. This active copy is separate from four-hour session artifacts.
  • Pipeline observability events are retained for 14 days and then pruned.

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections. We do not store Discord authentication tokens or passwords.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Service providers process data where needed to operate CronJobs:

  • Cloudflare — Our hosting and infrastructure provider.
  • Plausible Analytics — To provide aggregated, privacy-friendly website usage analytics without cookies or persistent identifiers.
  • OpenAI (via Cloudflare AI Gateway) — To process AI-powered features such as job search, resume tailoring, and job enrichment. Only the minimum necessary data is sent (e.g., your search query or resume content for the duration of processing).
  • Anthropic (via Cloudflare AI Gateway) — To process certain Premium conversational requests and model fallback paths. The request content needed for that feature may be sent for processing.
  • Discord — For subscription billing and bot interactions, subject to Discord's own Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

  • User preferences: Retained to operate your account and feeds until you request deletion. Leaving the server does not itself complete a deletion request.
  • Resume session artifacts: Scheduled for deletion four hours after the session starts or is extended.
  • Active reusable resume and extracted text: Retained until replaced or until you request deletion. The current product does not apply the four-hour session limit to this active copy.
  • Delivered job tracking: Retained while your account is active to prevent duplicate deliveries.
  • Pipeline events: Pruned after 14 days.

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Request deletion of your stored data by contacting a CronJobs administrator through Discord.
  • Leave the server at any time, which stops Discord-based feed delivery. Leaving is not a substitute for a deletion request.
  • Modify your preferences at any time using the bot's slash commands.
  • Cancel your subscription through Discord's subscription management.

7. Children's Privacy

CronJobs is not intended for users under the age of 13, consistent with Discord's Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Scope

CronJobs is designed for and operates within the United States. Job listings are filtered to USA-based positions only.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date and announced in the CronJobs Discord server.
