What makes CronJobs different?

CronJobs is a free Discord community for U.S.-based software engineers. Every member gets recurring job feeds through 23 supported employer-career and feed connectors, 8 role-based forum channels, compensation discussion, and a free AI assistant that lives inside Discord. Paid tiers exist for candidates who want personalized DM feeds and for employers who want to post roles.

We are not a recruiting firm, a resume SaaS, or an aggregator. We are a community-first job board built on top of Discord because that is where software engineers already talk.

How does the job pipeline work?

The ingestion pipeline runs on Cloudflare Workers and queues. Every hour, the cron-orchestrator worker schedules supported employer-career connectors and five public feeds. Raw listings flow through ats-crawl-consumer and rss-feed-consumer, get normalized and deduplicated in normalize-consumer, and upsert into the D1 database. The public source registry lists the current connector types and latest published coverage.

Four times a day, the channel-post-worker publishes eligible listings into forum channels as structured threads. Premium members also get DM feeds on a 15-minute cadence through dm-feed-worker. The production runtime is Cloudflare-first; source availability and processing can still affect when an individual listing appears.

Who is behind CronJobs?

CronJobs is built and operated by a small team of working software engineers with years of experience shipping Cloudflare Workers applications, data pipelines, and developer tools. We have been on both sides of the hiring table, and we know exactly how frustrating the standard job hunt feels. Every decision on the platform — from the forum-thread format to the free AI channel — comes from that experience.

We publish a privacy policy that describes storage, service-provider processing, retention, and deletion requests. CronJobs does not sell personal information. If you want to ask a question, join the server and contact an admin.

Our editorial and research policy explains how the team checks product facts, uses primary sources, publishes original aggregate data, discloses automation, advances review dates, and corrects material errors.

What principles guide the platform?

  • Direct-source only. Every listing links to the original posting. No aggregator middleman, no expired jobs.
  • Free core community. Joining the community, seeing the core feeds, and using the free AI channel currently cost nothing. Optional paid tools are labeled separately.
  • Salary transparency with context. Listings include salary ranges when available. #salary-talk gives members a place to discuss compensation; users should avoid sharing identifying details and verify comparisons by role, level, location, and date.
  • Community before product. Features are built in response to member feedback, not roadmap theater. If something does not work for the community, we cut it.
  • USA-focused, for now. Every listing is filtered to US-based roles. International expansion is on the roadmap but not live.
